A native
of Connecticut, Dr. Fincke joined our practice in 2007 after
finishing a bright and highly decorated 11 year career with
the United States Army. After obtaining his undergraduate
and M.D. degree from The George Washington University, Dr.
Fincke entered the United States Army. The first years of
his military service consisted of an Internal Medicine Residency
at the prestigious Walter Reed Army Medical Center and tours
of duty as a U.S. Army Flight Surgeon.
The last
7 years of Dr. Fincke’s military career were associated
with Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), completing a Gastroenterology
Fellowship and later serving as a faculty Gastroenterologist
for the San Antonio Uniformed Health Services Gastroenterology
Fellowship Program where was responsible for the education
and training of numerous gastroenterology physicians. Most
recently, he served as the Chief of Clinic Operations for
the BAMC Gastroenterology Clinic. Prior to his departure from
the Army, Dr. Fincke was recognized by his peers for his excellence
in endoscopic procedures with the Eddy Palmer Endoscopy Award.
Board
certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, his interests
include general gastroenterology and hepatology as well as
therapeutic endoscopy, including ERCP and Endoscopic Ultrasound
(EUS). His skills and consultative services in Endoscopic
Ultrasound (EUS) are highly regarded in the community by his
fellow gastroenterologists and physicians. He and his wife
Stephanie, are the proud parents of five wonderful children.
